Product Details

Prepare your pooch for the heavy New York winters and chilly autumn evenings with this lightweight, water-resistant barn coat. It’s durable — and it doubles in style and functionality with a polar fleece lining and corduroy collar. Head out with ease thanks to the Velcro closures. 

Sizes: 8 to 26 inches. Please select the size that brings the dog coat as close as possible to the tail without going over.

Barn coats in sizes 8”–18” come with a harness hole. For sizes 20”–26”, a harness hole can be added as a custom option.

Shipping

  • For standard shipping, we ship within 2 to 3 days of an order placed. Special order and custom beds will take longer and are indicated on the product detail page.
  • All domestic orders (excluding Hawaii & Alaska) are shipped via UPS and will arrive within 5 to 7 days.
  • International orders and orders to Alaska and Hawaii are shipped via USPS (The United States Postal Service).

Please note that personalized items need up to 5 extra business days for production. With standard shipping, your order may take 5-7 business days to arrive. Expedited shipping will not reduce personalization time, only the shipping speed.

How do I find the right size for my dog?

Measure your dog's back length from the base of the neck (where the collar sits) to the base of the tail. Choose the size closest to your dog's back length — if the measurement falls between two sizes, size up for a more comfortable fit. This barn coat is available in sizes 8" to 26". Check the size chart on the product page for weight guidelines.

Does this coat have a harness hole?

Barn coats in sizes 8"–18" come with a built-in harness hole. For sizes 20"–26", a harness hole can be added as a custom option. Is this coat water-resistant?

Yes. The barn coat is lightweight and water-resistant, making it a durable everyday option for cool and damp conditions. It's not fully waterproof, so for heavy rain, a dedicated raincoat provides better protection.

How do I wash the barn coat?

Machine-washable — wash on a gentle cycle and allow the coat to air-dry. Do not use the dryer. This makes the barn coat one of the easiest Canine Styles coats to care for.

So cute and preppy, it’s ridiculous!

Beautiful coat which fits perfectly on my pet. Considering the price point it was disappointing the coat was made in China, however.

Great winter coat

A few years back, while on a trip to NY, I stopped into the shop and bought this coat for my pup. Fast forward and that sweet boy has since passed but we received so many compliments on his coat I knew I wanted a new one for my new pup! I decided to google the label inside the original coat and to my surprise, it brought me right to the store! I bought the same coat again in a different color and just as before I expect to received compliments this winter. It’s adorable with the Corduroy trim and pockets (I keep an extra bag in each pocket). I love this coat.

We don't currently have sizes above 26 inches for our barn coats. For your dog, we recommend our down puffer coat or horse blanket coat, which offer more generous sizing and should provide a great fit for larger breeds.

I see what appears to be a slit to connect leash to harness. How easily does this jacket work with a choke collar?
