Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find the right size harness puffer for my dog?
How do I find the right size harness puffer for my dog?
Measure your dog's back length from the base of the neck (where the collar sits) to the base of the tail. Choose the size closest to your dog's back length — if the measurement falls between two sizes, size up for a more comfortable fit. The Down Harness Puffer is available in sizes 10" to 22". Check the size chart on the product page for weight guidelines.
How does the built-in harness work?
How does the built-in harness work?
Your dog steps into the coat and you zip it up the back for a secure fit. The fully adjustable step-in harness is integrated into the coat's design, so your dog is harnessed and dressed in one step. The harness is adjustable for a tailored fit and includes a leash attachment point, giving you control without needing a separate harness.
Can I still use my own harness with this coat, or does the built-in harness replace it?
Can I still use my own harness with this coat, or does the built-in harness replace it?
The built-in harness is designed to replace a separate harness entirely — your dog steps in, you zip up, and the coat and harness work as one piece. There's no need to layer a harness underneath. The harness is fully adjustable for a secure, comfortable fit.
Is this coat waterproof or water-resistant?
Is this coat waterproof or water-resistant?
The Down Harness Puffer features a 100% polyester shell that resists water and snow, keeping your dog warm and dry in typical winter conditions. It's water- and snow-resistant rather than fully waterproof, so for heavy, sustained rain a dedicated raincoat is a better choice.
How do I wash this coat?
How do I wash this coat?
Machine wash with Woolite on a gentle cycle, then fluff dry with a tennis ball for best results. The tennis ball helps restore the down fill's loft after washing, keeping the coat fluffy and warm.
Is the built-in harness suitable for dogs that pull, or should strong pullers use a separate harness?
Is the built-in harness suitable for dogs that pull, or should strong pullers use a separate harness?
The built-in harness provides comfortable control for most dogs, but it's designed primarily for convenience rather than pull correction. If your dog is a strong or persistent puller, a dedicated no-pull harness may offer better control and more targeted pressure distribution. For moderate walkers, the integrated harness works well for everyday use.
