All four puffer coats use duck down fill and water-resistant shells, but each has a distinct design. The standard puffer is a versatile everyday coat with Velcro closures. The sport puffer is lightweight and flexible, ideal for active dogs. The harness puffer features a built-in adjustable step-in harness with a zip-up back and a polar fleece lining, combining outerwear and a harness into one piece. The cashmere puffer features a cashmere exterior over a down fill. Designed in NYC and handcrafted in Italy — a premium option for style-conscious owners.

Canine Styles puffer coats are water- and snow-resistant, not fully waterproof. The polyester shells repel moisture effectively in light rain and snow, keeping your dog warm and dry in typical winter conditions. For heavy, sustained rain, a dedicated raincoat is a better choice.

It depends on the style. The cashmere puffer and sport puffer have a built-in harness hole, and the Down Harness Puffer has a fully integrated step-in harness, so no separate hole is needed. For the standard down puffers and the synthetic puffer, a harness hole can be added as a custom option — check the product page for details. Our standard down puffers do have a collar hole for easy attachment to the lead.

Yes. Most Canine Styles puffer coats are filled with 100% duck down — one of the few dog coat lines to use natural down fill. The Down Harness Puffer uses a 90% duck down / 10% feather blend. Natural down provides an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio, keeping your dog insulated without bulk. We also offer one synthetic-filled puffer for those who prefer a down-free alternative.

Machine wash your down puffer coat with Woolite on a gentle cycle, then fluff-dry on low temperature with a tennis ball for best results. Do not over-dry— Note: the tennis ball helps restore the down's loft. Cashmere puffer coats are the exception: they require dry cleaning only.
