The Canine Styles "horse-blanket" coat is the ultimate cold weather protection. Available in water and snow-proof nylon with a warm faux-shearling lining. Fully adjustable straps that criss-cross around the body (forming an "X" underneath) and adjustable fastener-and-buckle neck openings let you customize the fit for your dog. The leash can attach to a sewn-in D-ring, the letting the coat act as a safe and comfortable harness. (Harness use recommended only for small or well-trained dogs.) Machine wash in cold water, hang to dry.
Important:
- Straps must cross for the safety of the animal.
- This coat can be used as a harness for small dogs and dogs that do not pull.
- For sizes 20”–30”, this coat is not recommended for use as a harness.

- For standard shipping, we ship within 2 to 3 days of an order placed. Special order and custom beds will take longer and are indicated on the product detail page.
- All domestic orders (excluding Hawaii & Alaska) are shipped via UPS and will arrive within 5 to 7 days.
- International orders and orders to Alaska and Hawaii are shipped via USPS (The United States Postal Service).

How do I find the right size for my dog?
Measure your dog's back length from the base of the neck (where the collar sits) to the base of the tail. Choose the size closest to your dog's back length — if the measurement falls between two sizes, size up for a more comfortable fit. Horse blanket coats come in sizes from 10" to 30". Check the size chart on the product page for weight guidelines.

Yes, horse blanket coats have a 100% waterproof outer shell — waxed cotton on the plaid styles, nylon on the solid and reflective styles — with a warm faux shearling lining underneath. They're built to keep your dog warm and dry in rain, snow, and harsh winter weather.

How do the criss-cross straps work?
The adjustable straps wrap around your dog's body and cross underneath, forming an "X" shape, then clasp at the chest. It's important that the straps cross rather than run straight across — this gives a better fit and keeps the straps from interfering with your dog's movement. You adjust the straps once when you first buy the coat, and they stay set for the life of the coat.

Horse blanket coats are machine washable. For waxed cotton plaid styles, machine wash in cold water and hang to dry. Nylon, quilted, and reflective styles are also machine washable. We suggest using a laundry bag when washing any of our horse blanket coats. Hang to dry for best results. After washing, make sure the straps are crisscrossed into an "X" shape before putting the coat back on your dog.
